Welcome to 7th and 8th grade ELA!

Welcome! My name is Kasie Vercher (Miss Kasie to students), and this is my second year at South Cameron. As a middle school ELA teacher, I look forward to meeting and working with each of your children throughout the year in my class. I am originally from Pineville, LA, but moved here two years ago for a teaching opportunity—which eventually led me to South Cameron! J This is my seventh year teaching; although I’ve taught every subject, middle school English and Reading are my absolute favorite to teach!

I am not married, nor do I have any children. I do have two dogs, Cooper Lee and Daisy Duke, who are like my “babies.” I love to read outside of class. I also like to cook and spend time with my sister and nephews when I have the chance. My favorite color is orange, and my favorite holiday is Halloween (this could be because my birthday is so close to it, but I love the fall). I really do believe that teaching is a calling and not just a profession—therefore, I am always here for your child. I look forward to a great second year with amazing students as a South Cameron Tarpon!
