As a 1998 graduate of South Cameron, I am so proud to be back home at SCHS! I graduated from McNeese State University in 2008 with a degree in General Studies concentrating in Behavioral Studies. I worked for The Education and Treatment Counsel for 2 years as a youth counselor for at risk teens. In 2010, I was blessed with my only daughter. I then went to work for a Medicaid case management company for 3 years before returning to McNeese to complete my Alternative Certification in Health and Physical Education and Elem. Education. I began my teaching career at Lake Charles College Prep in 2014, where I served for one year, as the girls PE teacher, as well as the remediation Math and ELA teacher. At this point, my daughter was beginning school and I made the decision to return home to Cameron Parish to enroll her at SCHS. Upon leaving LCCP, I filled a half year, leave position at EK Key Elementary as the grades 1-5 Resource teacher. In 2016, I was given the amazing opportunity of filling a year long sabbatical as the Librarian at Bell City High School. In the summer of 2017, I received the call that I had been working so hard for, Mr. Adkins called me to invite me home to SCHS and there was no way I was going to miss this. Elated, I tearfully accepted the position of Computer Lab manager as well as the director of our Tarpon Dazzlers, and Assistant Coach of our Lady Tarpon Softball and Track Teams. I am beyond excited to once again be a part of the Lady Tarpon legacy and will always be proud to say, "Once a Tarpon, Always a Tarpon!"
